William Allen died from wounds on 4th October, 1916, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st King's Royal Rifle Corps battalion was part of 99 Brigade, 2nd Division, that had been involved in the Battle of the Somme in the summer and autumn of 1916. |
